With the advent of the increased interest in the sport of tropical flyfishing, there was created a need for educating both the visiting angler and the sportfishing service provider within the country, to become aware of the techniques and equipment necessary to handle these fighting tropical sportfish. There was also the growing concern about the protection of this fragile resource for future generations.

So it was left to the very few flyfishers within the country to unite their efforts and create a group solely dedicated to this activity and thus promote the enjoyment and protection of the great wealth of flyfishing destinations inland and on both coasts of the isthmus of Central America.

Flyfish in Costa Rica is the only operation solely dedicated to flyfishing these tropical waters and inherits the combined wealth of over 45 years of tropical flyfishing experience among members of its elite fly angler staff.

The Staff

Captain Peter Gorinsky, President and Founder of the Tropical Flyfishing Association, Life Member of FFF and an FFF Casting Instructor/Guide, has fished the Central and South American tropical waters for over 35 years. Not only does he design and tie flies for these tropical waters, but also has a unique understanding of the habits and location of the sportfish.
