Fly Fish Costa Rica is considered the only operation in Central America devoted to Eco-Fly Fishing. We believe in preserving our unique fishery for future generations so 'Catch and Release' is our motto. We quietly fish these tropical waters, many of which have never seen an angler. The Fly Fisher has the unique opportunity of fishing remote tropical rivers, lagoons, lakes, and mountain cloud and rainforest streams, all in full view of wildlife in its natural habitat. Fauna whose colors and scents are unique to these varied tropical waters. Listed at left are our basic 3 and 5-day fly fishing trips. All Inclusive: Transportation, Meals, and Lodging, English speaking guides. However, we will be happy to custom design a trip to fit your specification. The two-hour drive from San Jose to Termales del Bosque, is a scenic drive through mountain forest with frequent stops for photo opportunities.

The drive from Termales del Bosque to Caño Negro takes about two hours, offering scenic changes from savannas with fields of sugar cone to orange groves. The three-hour drive from La Fortuna back to San Jose, again allows the guest to savor varying alpine settings, among the tropical mountains. We pride ourselves in having booked our guest into quality lodging facilities. Well-Prepared meals will be in local restaurants, offering the guest a taste of the national cuisine. Termales del Bosque is located in a pre-mountain forest. Featuring a mountain river cascading through the forest, with natural hot water springs bordering the stream. Submerge yourself in the therapeutic waters or enjoy the natural aromatic sauna before retiring for the night in a comfortable cabin. Tabacón Spa in La Fortuna is another hot water Spa with natural hot mineral waters flowing directly form below Arenal Volcano. For the evenings in La Fortuna our guests are treated to Arenal Volcano under the stars to witness Nature's best pyrotechnic show.

The discovery of new fishing areas in northern Costa Rica has afforded some unique experiences in flyfishing for Machaca from a drifting boat or wet wading along some of the wild jungle streams, casting into pools for  Machaca. Mojarra, Guapote and Moga. These are two or three day custom trips and can be undertaken from the Central Valley and Guanacaste areas.
